Now, I thought the movie was overall well made. I believe the movie would have people on the edge of their seats, trying to figure out just WHAT is happening to this little family. With the movie taking place in modern day time but reliving
the early 1800's with a family who quickly enough becomes haunted by a spirit, it makes you feel like wearing a milk maid outfit or something. Supposedly this is based off of real events. This movie is about the only documented case in U.S. history where a spirit killed a man....or so they say.Anyways, I figured out the plot twists and ending half way through the movie, but I feel as though normal people might not have such a warped and twisted mind as I do, and might not come to the conclusion of what was really happening as fast as I did.
I really enjoyed Rachel Hurd-Wood as the lead actress in the movie. I enjoyed her as the role of Wendy in Peter Pan, and it was good to see she could do something else with herself. She has this certain innocent it factor that makes her perfect onscreen.
I've gotta say I rather enjoyed it. Knowing the world isn't perfect, you can't trust anyone, and psychologically speaking you might not know what's going on in that brain of yours. Repressed memories, hallucinations, spirits? Anything and everything can be possible.
