As opposed to what, a *chocolate* lion?

Osbourne Cox? I thought you might be worried... about the security... of your shit.
Burn After Reading is just a super crazy movie. I didn't really laugh all that much, though the previews made it seem like the movie was a "roll on the floor laughing" movie... . However, there weren't any ROFL moments for me. It's an incredibly dark comedy, all focusing on the misunderstandings of each character in the movie. With the previews making it seem as though the entire movie is centered about Brad Pitt, the movie barely highlights on him and he ends up no longer being in it three fourths of the way in. The movie is just incredibly dark. There's a lot of swearing but the movie itself is quite slow paced. It's a lot of normal type characters doing normal every day things. Going to the gym, going to work, being fired, jogging, cheating on your spouse, and building sex toys. I wouldn't really recommend the movie for anyone who needs action packed movies or bust-your-gut comedies because it is neither. Monday, November 10, 2008
You white, then you Ben Affleck.
I wanted to see it and sure enough that's just what I did. Role Models was fan-flippin-tastic! The humor was smart with a lot of tongue-in-cheek moments. The character Danny (played by Paul Rudd) has this unmistakable look on his face whenever someone says something odd around him. A sort of, "what the hell?" Sean William Scott does an amazing job making his character act completely happy with his life, with very little regrets or expectations. Bobb'e J Thompson is going to be an up and coming young actor who will work well in the "R rated" comedies. This young boy probably does the most swearing I have ever heard of someone under the age of 15. Throw in a styrofoam sword wielding dorky McLovin (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) and you've got a star comedic cast. When Rudd drives a giant Minator-shaped truck onto a statue of a horse in front of a bunch of high schoolers, both he and Scott's characters are forced into community service. Enter Augie and Ronnie, their "Littles" (like a Little Brother-Big Brother scenario). Though the movie is rated R, it came out right around the time of Zack and Miri, and from what I hear....it's the calmer of the two. A lot of the movie is intelligent, with a decent plot. I personally thought that Augie's world was ESPECIALLY funny! Though my favorite part includes the formation of the mythical land of Kiss-my-anthia.....you'll get it when you see it. :) Tuesday, November 4, 2008
Movies I want to see....
Zack and Miri Make a Porno- First of all, I adore Seth Rogen. He's funny and sweet and does an awesome job making new-aged comedies. I feel as though it'll be a bit naughty...but I'm willing to put up with it in order to enjoy this comedy. Elizabeth Banks will also be showing in SEVERAL movies in close succession including W., Zack and Miri, Role Models, and her upcoming projects are The Uninvited, and the H-Man cometh.
Role Models- Sean William Scott has charmed me in all the American Pies as well as "The Rundown" so, add Sean William Scott with Paul Rudd (who is an amazing actor and has done some spectacular supporting actor roles including "Knocked Up" and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"....who will P.S. be in a movie in 2009 called "I Love You, Man" with him and Jason Segel in it again [just like FSM]) and you've got yourself a decent comedy. Neither of them have really gotten the chance to hold a movie up on their own. Mostly all their movies are supporting roles so this is their chance to really prove themselves. Add Christopher Mintz- Plasse to the mix (for everyone who doesn't know...that is McLovin!) and how can you even go wrong with it?
Quantum of Solace- Okay so yes, all my other movies I'm looking forward to seeing are comedies....can you blame me? They're funny. They have you leaving the movie theatre with a grin on your face...or pee in your pants (on the most extreme occasions). Quantum of Solace will do all that and more. No one can contain their excitment for the new James Bond movie. Daniel Craig (though with that blonde hair and blue eyes) portrayed one of the most convincing James Bond's we've had since Roger Moore. Yes, I'm making the statement that Roger Moore totally kicked major James Bond ass! Heck yes! Anyways, it's going to be action packed, thrilling, explosions, cars, and JB just beating people up bloody raw....exactly what you want in a Bond movie. We can only hope Daniel Craig will be forced into a tight swimsuit again...oh yeah :).Monday, October 27, 2008
Give me a catch up

It's a CD, I hope you haven't got it. Because I don't have a receipt and I didn't exactly buy it.
So, Run Fatboy, Run was a interesting turn of events for Simon Pegg in his career. With movies like Shaun of the Dead (fav.) and Hot Fuzz, this movie was less about satire and more about "the message". There were still some decently funny parts, but this movie will in no way replace Shaun of the Dead in my heart or anything. Leaving his girlfriend at the alter while pregnant, his character Dennis decides to run the marathon his ex's new boyfriend is in order to try and persuade her he's changed his ways. In this movie Simon is a loving father, a screw up of a boyfriend, a loyal friend, and he ends up being quite a role model by the end. It's just not quite what I see him doing...but the movie was good none the less. Simon has a new movie coming out soon How to Loose Friends and Alienate People. It stars him across the screen from Kirsten Dunst. We'll see....we'll see. Sunday, September 21, 2008
Pop tart wid de ketchup. She's a good.
The Love Guru was a horrible movie. That's about it.... I was so disappointed with this. Mike Meyers, what the hell are you doing? I cannot believe that movie was rated PG-13. I think it was crude and the sexual humor in it was disgusting. I wouldn't recommend anyone wasting 87 minutes of their lives watching this movie. It as no purpose, the plot is crap, and the best part was seeing Justin Timberlake in a speedo. So...yeah....Skadoosh!
So, I had a private screening of Kung Fu Panda and I have to say, I thought it was wonderful. The movie was so innovative and the CG animation was mind-blowing! Amazing! Jack Black is the main character and though he is never physically seen on screen, his energy and personality is not left behind. His character panda is loveable, funny, and really establishes the "never give up on your dreams" motif that is oh so popular in the movies. With other voices such as Seth Rogen and Angelina Jolie, no wonder it was such a hit? It had really good humor in it and it really was a movie for all ages. Parents could take the kids and be generally interested in the plot and cute story. Just remember, there is no special ingredient. You are you, and that is wonderful. :) Sunday, September 14, 2008
I'm going to take a pillowcase and fill it full of bars of soap and beat the shit out of you!
Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly do a HILARIOUS job at being Step Brothers. It's a perfect depiction of a family combining into one....except that the step brothers being combined are 40 years old. The brothers, like most families, don't start off well. They don't like anything about one another until they both discover a mutual hatred of Ferrell's younger brother. They develop a quick bond and hilarity ensues. It is rated R though, there are several scenes of grossness (like a certain body part being rubbed on a drum set)...and lots of swearing. But for as gross as some of it was, I wasn't discussed enough to dislike the movie. I loved it. Awesome!Friday, August 29, 2008
And I'm Tim, God of Crazy-Baby-Land. Can you move please?
So, Son of the Mask, made in 2005. I didn't think it was as horrible as everyone else did. I thought the animation was actually really good. Though I hated the character that Jamie Kennedy changed into when he became the mask. Super ultra retarded. But the baby was cute, the dog was funny, and Alan Cumming or PeeWee....was well, creepy, as he aught to be. It took the obstacle of having a new baby in the house with the mother leaving and having the father take control. Which usually starts with optimism, is always chaos, but ends up well. It can't even compare to the original mask (sorry Jamie, you're no Jim), but, I did like it. Well, Christy... How come your friend just called you Jane a second ago?
Though I've never gotten high and stolen a batch of my creepy roommate’s drug-laced party cupcakes, I sure do feel for poor Jane. Smiley Face is the story of a totally trashed girl who has to run her daily errands completely stoned. There were a BUNCH of well known stars in this movie. Anna Farris (House Bunny), Danny Masterson (That 70's Show), Brian Posehn (comedian), Jane Lynch (40-yr-old-virgin), John Krasinski (The Office!), and Jayma Mays (who played in Epic Movie and I couldn't place her face until I looked her up! But I knew that I knew her!). Anyways, lots of people for a small underground movie. I hadn't heard anything of this movie and it was made in 2007. But I did like it. I even laughed out loud at a couple of parts. P.S. Also an appearance from John Cho (Harold and Kumar movies)...perfect for a stoner movie wouldn't you say? Wednesday, August 27, 2008
Mister, if you don't shut up I'm gonna kick one hundred percent of your ass!
Ahhh, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, what a classic. The brilliant Sean Penn was given his break out role supported by Judge Reinhold. Most of the other actors I don't really see around nor do I remember...so I suppose that can say something right there. It's a perfect 80's movie about sex, pot, and high school, much like today's Superbad. It was truly all about "fast times", so the title worked. I was surprised how dirty it really was. Plenty of bongs, boobs, and yep, even some masturbation. It had its funny parts (mostly all scenes including Sean Penn) vs. his uptight U.S. History teacher. Though I wouldn't mind ordering one extra cheese sausage pizza during class sometime...think the teacher would mind?Sunday, August 24, 2008
You're British?
Alright so needless to say...I'm glad I didn't pay the full price to see this movie The House Bunny was an ultra chick flick pretty much and I have to say I'm biased because I just don't like them. Overall this movie wasn't very memorable. The plot is was just boring and silly. Though there were some funny moments, the only redeeming part of this movie was its female up-and-coming actresses. Emma Stone and Kat Dennings are going to be starlets I think. They both have several movies in progress and are both incredibly funny. Of course, the lead, Miss Anna Faris always holds a special place in my heart for willing to be funny/gross/and do slapstick comedy. She's willing to go where other actresses wouldn't in afraid of losing their sexy appeal. Though she's been in all three of the Scary Movies and many others where she's shown a "non-girly" side, it didn't stop her hotness in this movie. Guest appearances from Hugh Heffner and real Playboy Bunnies were bland and uneventful. I feel the major part where they went wrong was that the "villains", each of them weren't made to be that big of a threat. They also weren't made nearly mean enough. By the end of the movie you want the audience to despise the villain and wish horrible things upon them. The "bad girls" really weren't anything to brag about.

Yeah? Well I sure hope he showed ya how to pull a fire poker outta your ass!
Just Married...made in 2003 it was a slapstick comedy about marriage on the rocks...did I mention they're only on their honeymoon? With Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy, they made a very good couple. They didn't just seem in love, they seemed like friends too. They were capable of goofing around together, which is what should be included in any relationship. Ashton Kutcher always does a good job with his freak outs (he attacks an attempted wife-stealer) which was funny. The movie shows how hard relationships can be when the two people come from different worlds. It also shows how hard it is when there's money involved. Little rich girl's family doesn't think he's good enough. But love is love, and the movie is basically about if love is good enough. Thursday, August 21, 2008
Look out Napoleon Dynamite
Because I just watched The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang. It was made in 2006 and even has guest appearances by Jon Gries (Uncle Rico) and even Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite). So this movie has actors Justin Long (Accepted, Waiting) and Jeremy Sumpter (Peter Pan). It was an all around amazing movie for a geek. The characters are the perfect stereotypical dorky/dwebie/nerdy/fantastic-ness. I laughed really hard at this movie and think it's something my friends would enjoy. Awesome movie references, laser tag fights, paintball attacks, and giant-foam-sword battles. It's a dream. There are a lot of time jumps throughout the movie...but it all makes sense once you get the hang of it. The basic plot is several different people's lives intertwining around a Sasquatch sighting. Is it real? Is it fake? You won't know till about.....30 minutes into the movie. HA!Wednesday, August 20, 2008
I don't read the script. The script reads me.
Tropic Thunder was an okay movie. Fortunately the amazing stars that were in it really carried it. Robert Downey Jr. was SUPER RAD as his character Kirk Lazarus. Ben Stiller was also very funny even though there was controversy about his character because HIS character played a retarded person. A lot of guest celebrities like Matthew McConaughey, Tom Cruise, Tobey Maguire, Lance Bass, and Jennifer Love Hewitt to name a few. I didn't think that Tom Cruise was as funny as everyone made him out to be. He just says the F word a lot and threatens people. Yes his dance is funny, but any famous actor in a fat suit dancing to a rap song would be funny. I love how crazy Ben Stiller goes in the jungle. Plus killing pandas is always great family movie fun.
1987 classic The Monster Squad was finally seen by me...today. For such an old movie, it had fresh humor mixed with the traditional movie monsters. What a classic. The monsters were wonderful! The costumes and make up design was fantastic for a 1987 movie. I mean dang, I wasn't even born yet!!!! The beagle dog was super cute! Plus (spoiler) I love how the army shows up after an unmarked note is sent to them written in crayon by a kiddy. It's hilarious. Anyways, I sure did enjoy it; old movies can still be good movies. I'm not a baby. I'm a tumor.

Friday, July 18, 2008
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. We're tonight's entertainment.

A few things I didn't like:
- People should've realized there were MASSIVE MASSIVE amounts of explosives in the hospital
- Batman's voice is so scratchy and low and nothing like Bruce's in the real life, it just makes me laugh
- What were they thinking by killing him? What do they plan on doing now? Jeeze.
- Like Indiana Jones is afraid of snakes....Bruce is rather afraid of dogs now? Weird.
And I LOVED when the Joker was wearing a nursing outfit and wig! Awesome.

You can't live in fear
Sunday, July 6, 2008
He is attempting to achieve the impossible. He is trying to sing in his own voice using someone else's vocal cords.

- Sophia Myles- Underworld, Dracula, and T.V.'s "Moonlight"
- John Malkovich- Eragon, and Beowulf
- Jim Broadbent- Hot Fuzz, Indiana Jones, and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
- Matt Keeslar- The new T.V. series, "The Middleman"
- Joel Moore (love)- Grandma's Boy
- Nick Swardson (love)- Blades of Glory, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, Don't Mess with the Zohan, and Reno 911!
The movie was strange. All to do with the creative tendencies of these crazy art students. Also, there's a person strangling people on campus....no wonder the tuition was so low! Overall I thought the plot was interesting enough, I was able to guess the ending, but I feel as though the main actor Max Minghella as Jerome, just wasn't a strong enough actor. The ending was humours enough, and sad because it's true to real life.

No, I'm not okay alright? I'm losin' my mind a little bit. Gettin' chased by my car right now, gotta go!

Plus....the one character that I seriously wanted to STRANGLE through that hole movie was Agent Simmons. What an annoying character. He was seriously the worst part of the movie for me. If a real government agent actually acted like that, I'd probably shot myself. Plus, punch him in the face.
Weird things on the plot that I didn't understand:
- Why did the All Spark ONLY produce bad robots....and then how did the Autobots come to be?
- Why did they think that Sam getting to the top of the building into a helicopter would REALLY protect the All Spark? When Megatron could turn into a jet?
- Why didn't Starscream (?) (in the first part of the movie) when he destroyed that army base, why didn't he use his full power when attacking in the streets in the end?
- Why couldn't the Autobots contact one another like Decepticons could (like when all the Decepticons contacted one another to meet up)
- Why couldn't any of the Autobots sense the evil little robot inside Mikaela's purse?

Because we wouldn't haunt in Mexico?
Now, I thought the movie was overall well made. I believe the movie would have people on the edge of their seats, trying to figure out just WHAT is happening to this little family. With the movie taking place in modern day time but reliving
the early 1800's with a family who quickly enough becomes haunted by a spirit, it makes you feel like wearing a milk maid outfit or something. Supposedly this is based off of real events. This movie is about the only documented case in U.S. history where a spirit killed a man....or so they say.Anyways, I figured out the plot twists and ending half way through the movie, but I feel as though normal people might not have such a warped and twisted mind as I do, and might not come to the conclusion of what was really happening as fast as I did.
I really enjoyed Rachel Hurd-Wood as the lead actress in the movie. I enjoyed her as the role of Wendy in Peter Pan, and it was good to see she could do something else with herself. She has this certain innocent it factor that makes her perfect onscreen.
I've gotta say I rather enjoyed it. Knowing the world isn't perfect, you can't trust anyone, and psychologically speaking you might not know what's going on in that brain of yours. Repressed memories, hallucinations, spirits? Anything and everything can be possible.

Last night with Charlie Bartlett

- Charlie Bartlett, the confused teenager who is constantly getting himself into trouble.
- Principal Gardner, an ex-history teacher whose wife left him which forced him to alcoholism.
- Murphey Bivens, the punk-ass bully Charlie ends up befriending (stole the scene most of the time).
I feel that Anton Yelchin who played Charlie was fairly green and just a little too innocent for the role he played. However, he did some of the best, funniest accents I've seen on screen for a while. Robert Downey Jr. played the role of the alcoholic principal very well (surprise?). I love him to death though, and with an intense moment towards the end of the movie, you really see his talent. Overall is was a good movie, with a lot of discussion of dysfunctional families and showing society just what a hard time teenagers really do have.
